I've long had a secret love for the colour yellow. Yellow is cheerful and bold, it’s the oddball kid at the back of the class who is entertaining and breaks the rules. Long ago, its brilliant smile won my heart and now this zinger of a painting has done it again. Imagine butter melting in the scorching sun on ripe corn…. Delicious!
An abstract art print that captures the spirit of a leisurely summer day, ‘Lemon’ adds a spark of joy to wall decor and is a radiant addition to the rainbow of colour in my ‘Summer Detours’ collection. It perfectly captures the special feeling of a day filled with wonderful friends, bright sunshine, and big laughs.
The paintings and prints in this series are bold expressions of my love of colour. I used a larger canvas for the original ‘Lemon’ painting to give me more room to explore, blend and mix colours and develop movement and interest in the background. The subtlety of this visual texture translates beautifully into the art print format creating an image with depth and retaining the artistry of the original.
