Sometimes all it takes is one rogue brushstroke for the intention of a painting to veer off into its own direction. That's the point at which I'm simply the one holding the brush and trying to rein in the ideas in a spur-of-the-moment, inspired way. What emerged on the canvas was a beautifully powerful, just-evening sky.
