A bold, dramatic sky painting originally commissioned for a magazine photoshoot, this abstract sky radiates energy and still captivates me to this day. With a thousand shades of colour dancing in the wind and monstrous joy in the brushstrokes, it was the perfect painting to set the tone for the 'Forever Skies' collection of acrylic sky paintings.
'The Place to Be' is a large-scale landscape painting featuring luminous abstract clouds in a deep blue sky floating over a red landscape. For the original collection of abstract acrylic sky paintings, I set out with big brushes and giant canvases to paint skies that felt like forever. There's a freedom to painting large that I love - there's room to explore, the scale can be looser, and the brushstrokes are full of beautiful energy.
As the original acrylic sky painting has sold, I'm delighted to offer 'The Place to Be' as a museum-quality fine art print. This print is reproduced from the full-scale original, ensuring a beautiful concentration of color in a print that maintains all the artistry of the original piece when scaled to a size that best suits your wall space.

The size shown for an art print on fine art paper is the final sheet size, which includes a 1” border. The border gives the image ‘room to breathe’ and leave some space for my signature as well as space to accommodate framing with a mat.
The size shown for a canvas art print is the image size. Your canvas print will arrive rolled with an additional 2” border (white or printed) so you can wrap this around the stretcher frame of your choice. My signature runs vertically up the right side of the border.
