The challenge of this beach painting lay in its subtlety: to discover colour and interest in a quiet beach scene and let those gentle brushstrokes tell the story. Simple and soft, the sea breeze wafting along the shore and flirting with the water's edge feels both calming and lively. The colour palette of the beach was my inspiration, and I thoroughly enjoyed bringing the idea of sea and sand into the studio.
