I think every one of us will stop to admire a rainbow. There's something enchanting in their translucent colours stretching across the sky—a fleeting moment of beauty and wonder. Such a moment inspired this painting but challenged me to re-imagine a rainbow in a contemporary way. If you look closely, you’ll see I pulled back from using a full 'rainbow' colour spectrum to avoid a childish palette and consciously avoided cliché "pot of gold at the end" arching brushstrokes or cheesy composition. With a little Susannah-magic, this painting became my rainbow, rolling across my blue sky.
