I found this curious spot on an early, early spring walk. The air was still cool and the soggy land not yet green, but the trees on the horizon were already reaching for the warming sun and coming back to life. The feeling on days like this, a bit windy, with lots of play between light and shadow and skies very alive, is something I pay close attention to because it's the season changing right before my eyes and it captivates my imagination.

Please note: The surface of this painting is heavily textured with the dried lumps and bumps of my brushstrokes and the oil paint.
