'Stella' was my Mt. Everest of this collection, and I can honestly say the view is incredible now that I can stand back and admire it. Despite having the clearest vision for what I wanted to see, and having the most prepared sketch to work from (unusual for me) this was actually the painting that took the longest to complete and challenged me at every step.
And yet... and yet...
All I see now is effortless grace in the brushstrokes, natural colours working side by side in harmony, and a quiet balance flowing through the leaves. There isn’t an inch of this canvas I want to change – this is peak perfect for me.
