To sit under a darker sky, watch weather roll in and to feel the power of nature is to be in awe. I've always loved these moments - my favourite self-invented game as a kid was called "storm", played during the worst (best?) of wind and rainstorms. Eventually I'd head inside, thoroughly wet, covered in mud, exhausted and happy. Windermere isn't a storm per se, but it certainly carries a deeply beautiful, powerful energy in its flowing brushstrokes.
