Stretcher bar guidelines
Prints have thin black lines printed at the corners to highlight the edge of the image. These 'foldlines' are important for lining up the stretcher frame with the edge of the image.

Signature placement
I print my signature midway up one side of my canvas prints. It’s a contemporary placement that lets my name be visible without interfering with the image itself.

Understanding canvas print options

Gallery wrapped canvas
When you choose a canvas print with a 2" printed border a mirror of the image is printed on the extended border. This gives you the additional canvas needed to wrap the image around a wooden stretcher frame to achieve a "gallery look".

Canvas print with white border
Choosing for a canvas print with a 2" white border gives you what is called a "museum wrap." The image is confined to the front of the canvas and you have white canvas edges for wrapping around the wooden stretcher.

A canvas print wrapped on a stretcher frame looks beautiful as it is, but some people like to enhance the look with a floater frame.
Named for the illusion they create, floater frames make the artwork look like it is "floating" within the frame. It's an additional flourish that provides an attractive, sleek and elegant appearance.
