While this piece is as bright and fresh as mint itself, it feels like so much that we all enjoy about the cool treats of summer. A splashing deep dive into a briskly cold lake. A rainbow caught in the spray of a garden sprinkler. A dripping popsicle, a flower swaying in the shade, a cool breeze through the leaves. It's a respite from the heat and a welcome, cheerful summer moment.
I feel like I added to the rainbow with this ‘Summer Detours’ collection of abstract paintings and prints. They’re a celebration of the joys of sparkling sunshine and the long meandering days of summer when the windows are always open and blowing a great breeze. The larger canvas size I used for this collection gave me room to develop the movement in each image, recollecting all the little pleasures and playful moments of summer fun.
The sides of the original acrylic painting are painted so that it’s ready to hang right out of the box. Museum-quality fine art prints have also been created from this painting so you can mix colourful images from this collection if you wish.
