I adore a stormy sky! The energy, the mood, the murky colours, the swirling winds ... all of it! With that in mind, I let myself get swept up in a darker sky, one that is thick with paint, every mark and ridge of the underpainting adding to the visible layers of sky.
The surface of this moody sky painting retains texture from the underpainting. These brushstrokes are quiet whispers of wind that linger, integral to the creative process, revealing the secret story of how this sky came to be.
Even among the grey and shadow, there's somehow a calming flow and even a sense of peace.
