If there's one kind of sky my heart would chase forever it would be a stormy sky. I find the power of nature absolutely awe-inspiring, especially when swirling winds and gathering clouds tumble overhead. This sky painting was me in a field, alone with the world, about to get soaked. It’s somehow comforting to be reminded of the magnificence of nature and, ultimately, what a speck of dust I am.
Darker skies are an endless source of inspiration. I am fascinated by the movement and layers of energy in the air.There’s also something wise and philosophical about storms in paintings—they come and go, and we all must face them, surrendering to the beauty, power and wonder of a wide-open sky full of life.
