Drawing inspiration from a little painting I did last year, I set out on a larger canvas to create a colourful sky that defied the cliché of "ye ol' cheesy rainbow." Despite my love for colour and richly coloured skies, I underestimated how difficult it would be to find my groove for this one. The back and forth to find the right placement and blend of colours was an ongoing challenge. Each shift and change led to more shift and change. This sky has a life of its own! Eventually, I realized that it was one of those never ending skies that just doesn't want to be tamed. It’s time to surrender to the perfectly imperfect bands of light and colour that want to flow freely.
