Something about a tropical spring, if such a thing exists, was the seed for this big stretch of a painting. It began as a quiet idea and stretched out into a more expansive, open composition.
Working across this longer format brought a different rhythm, allowing colours, shapes and details to move more freely across the canvas. I found myself carefully balancing weight and placement, while letting each element unfold with a sense of flow and ease.
