A single, central brushstroke, that little leafy jolt of emerald green, became the beginning, middle and end of this lively spring posy. It felt like the playful heart of this abstract floral painting, though building the rest of the colour composition around it proved surprisingly challenging.
It was the kind of creative puzzle I love, and the extra time, thought and generous layers of paint it took to bring everything together make this original artwork feel like a true spring win.
Please note: this piece has a little extra surface texture, created through the gradual build-up of many paint layers, reflecting the time, care and attention given to its finish.
