Just like in my garden, certain flowers have captured my heart in a way I'll never forget. These ones have a presence, a story, and a name to match. Their journey will continue beyond the canvas as fine art prints, ready to brighten even more homes.

I’ve always loved exploring unexpected colour combinations and playful forms in my abstract art. But as I worked on this collection of floral paintings, I started seeing flowers in a whole new way—discovering their energy and shapes in unexpected, delightful ways. It became a creative hunt, a search for fresh and unique expression. And now, I'm so excited to share ‘Freshly Picked’ with you!

The seed for this collection was planted in my mind in the depths of a Canadian winter, after a visit to the local greenhouse and a rare indulgence—a bright bouquet of flowers! The creative boost from those simple, inspiring moments flowed into the studio and blossomed into this 'Freshly Picked' collection of abstract floral paintings.

These aren’t your typical floral paintings. I wanted to break away from tradition and paint flowers my way—perfectly imperfect, lively, and undeniably modern. Drawing from my abstract art practice, I blended free-spirited brushwork with a recognizable subject, creating pieces that are fresh, playful, and deeply personal.

As the collection evolved, I kept exploring form and colour, following a few of the many paths that lead from the first paintings. What unfolded on the canvas were stories grown from that exploration, and in telling them, I have discovered so much along the way. Personal discovery is always exciting and there are many more flower stories waiting to be revealed.
